Today was all about Major League Eating’s World Deep-Fried Asparagus Eating Championship which was held on the main stage of the 25th annual Asparagus Festival.
Last year’s winner, Patrick Bertoletti was joined by other notables like Eric “Badlands” Booker, Ben Monson, Crazy Legs Conti and local favorite, Joey Chestnut. In the end, Joey Chestnut took first place ahead of Ben Monson and Patrick Bertoletti.

On the first day of the festival, Rod had a chance to talk to Adriana Brogger from KCRA and Wes Rhea from the Stockton Conference and Visitor’s Bureau.
