This new social networking (it’s not social, it’s networking, with a purpose) site is coming soon and Levi and Clarence come into the studio to tell us what it’s all about. The two of them are running the company from Stockton, and along with their business partners from southern California, they are looking at making a splash in the online world of social networking.

Rod and Linda’s newest addition, another daughter, is expected to make her arrival any day. The rest of the Podcast Stockton crew is eager for her arrival!

The 2nd Annual Internet Marketing Conference is July 21 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the Stockton Hilton. Tickets are $125. There are only 10 spots left and Mayaco is donating 100% of the proceeds of these final 10 tickets to the St. Joseph’s Cancer Center. This year’s keynote speaker is Microsoft Executive, Alpa Agarwal.

A Bay Area casting agency is looking for Stockton talent. On May 22nd, American Eagle Casting will be holding an open audition for roles in the second season of the Investigation Discovery Channel’s series, “I Almost Got Away With It.” The casting calls will be held in Patterson beginning at 10AM and American Eagle Studios has asked specifically for participation from anyone interested from Stockton.

Our thoughts on Mayor Ann Johnston’s State of the City Address. Last week the Mayor gave her Stockton State of the City Address speech. She talked about what Stockton needs to do in order to shake it’s national reputation. Dallas Braden was also brought up as an example of the kind of person she is looking to to help change the “attitude” of the city. You can read the text of the speech here.

The Stockton Stingrays vs. Podcast Stockton beep baseball rematch you have all been waiting for. We recently took on the Stockton Stingrays beep baseball team. The Stockton Stingrays are still looking for six-person teams to play them on Saturdays at Atherton Park. A recap of the 22nd Annual Earth Day Festival. Matt and I were emcees at Stockton’s Earth day festival hosted by the Peace and Justice Network of San Joaquin Valley. There were several bands and performing artists that participated in the event including The Afternaps and Tara Tinsley from Musicians for a Better Planet. Several teachers were given awards as well as a grant and Congressman Jerry McNerney and City Council Member Susan Eggman addressed the attendees. The Courage Campaign of San Joaquin is hosting a Mardi Gras party. On Friday April 30th at 6:00pm, the Courage Campaign of San Joaquin will be putting on a Mardi Gras party in an effort to raise awareness of their organization. The event will be held at Valley Ministries MMC in Stockton and is free to attend.

Help save “Music in the Park.”A 58 year old tradition is on the verge of ending as the City will no longer be able to support the “Music in the Park” program held at Victory Park. Thusday, April 29th from 5:30 to 7:30, there will be a fundraiser to help continue this event. Bring your chair and your checkbook and enjoy the music of local artists “Next Door Neighbor;”

Andy, aka @Brewery33, makes good on his Trash Bet. You can catch two videos made from Trash Bet – Rod’s and Manuel’s. If this is your first time hearing about Trash Bet, it was a bet Andy and Matt made in the beginning of the 2010 NFL playoff season. Andy, in honor of Gary Vaynerchuk’s favorite team, predicted that the NY Jets would advance to, and win, the Super Bowl. Matt, on the other hand, picked the Saints to go all the way. The price of the wager was 1 hour of picking up trash somewhere in Stockton. He also put some of his findings up on Closet Goodies. Way to go Andy!

Mike and his daughter, Rachel reviewed last weekend’s Bug Fest 2010, held at the Oak Grove Regional park. There was plenty to learn about bugs, and even some to eat!

University of the Pacific versus Cal in the Showcase in Stockton. On Wednesday, the Pacific Tigers mens basketball team squared off against the Cal Bears.

Snow in Stockton! On Monday, Stockton was treated to a little bit of snow. It didn’t stick to the ground… but it was definitely snow.

Who you can help in Stockton. If you’re able to help out this year, the Gospel Center Rescue Mission and the Stockton Shelter for the Homeless is there to accept donations. If you want to learn more about organizations in Stockton check out the VISTAS website.

UStream Broadcaster comes to the iPhones. UStream released it’s iPhone app, Broadcaster, which will allow iPhone owners (like Matt, and soon, Rod) to stream a live video from their iPhone. We’ve set up an account on UStream and will surely be broadcasting live from an iPhone near you (or, near us). Also, check out the Behind the Scenes video we filmed while recording episode 18.

UOP’s Manager of Media Relations and I sat down to discuss his role at the university, how UOP uses Twitter and Facebook, and what his thoughts are on photography and Stockton. A recap of the Run & Walk Against Hunger. On Thanksgiving morning, Rod, my daughter, and I walked in the 5th Annual Run & Walk Against Hunger benefiting the Emergency Food Bank of San Joaquin. Wearing a device that carried a laptop, Rod walked 5k (3.1 miles) while he “rodcasted” live. Big thanks to the Delta College RTV team – Melissa Deverall, Will Story, Pete Pang, Donna Barlow, and Adriana Brogger for all of their support in the event.
